With an undergraduate degree in the creative and performing arts, Nowak used her creative talents throughout her training and experience.

While teaching at Windermere, she started a musical theater club and directed and produced a second-grade play celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King. She continues to volunteer her time and expertise with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Food Bank of WNY, and Teaching and Restoring Youth.

Father Joseph Porpiglia, pastor of St. Benedict Parish, noted that the search committee recognized Nowak’s experience and knowledge in all elements of education. The committee also felt that her background would enhance the educational mission of St. Benedict School and St. Benedict Parish. “From my perspective, Kerri represents an exceptional match for both our faculty and students at St. Benedict’s,” Father Porpiglia said.
