Academic Program

The Academic Program of St. Benedict School is based on the desire to best meet the needs of each student. Religion is an important element of our school curriculum and is therefore included daily in our program. It consists of not only the instruction of our faith, but also involvement in the Liturgy, paraliturgical celebrations, and sacramental preparation. It is our strong feeling that religion is not merely an additional subject to be taught in our school. It is our hope that what is learned will affect our day to day experiences with one another.

Kindergarten and grades 1-3 study Religion, English Language Arts (which includes Reading, English, Phonics, Spelling, and Handwriting), Mathematical skills, Social Sciences, Art, Music, Library skills, and Physical Education.

Grades 4-8 study Religion, Reading, Mathematics, English, Social Studies, Science, Health, Art, Music, Library skills, and Physical Education.

Students in grades 2- 8 take computer class and students in grades 3-8 study Spanish.

Additional information on the Academic Program can be found in the school handbook.
