Each year Canisius College offers a number of vocal music scholarships to incoming freshman who demonstrate musical proficiency and a desire to participate in one of the college’s performing ensembles. These awards cover $2,000 in annual tuition costs and are renewable for up to four years, resulting in up to $8,000 in total tuition reduction over an undergraduate career.

I’m writing today to invite you to share this information with any students that you know who may be planning to enter Canisius College next year.   Although Canisius now offers both a major (BA-Music) and minor in music, it is not necessary for scholarship recipients to be enrolled in either program. He or she needs only to participate in one of the college’s music ensembles.

Follow these two links for an information sheet and scholarship application blank.  Please feel free to print and duplicate both and distribute them to your students. The deadline for submission of the application form is January 15th. Supporting materials can follow after that deadline.

Please feel free to call or write with any additional questions. You may also contact Jane Cary, Director of Music, at 888-2536. Best wishes for continued success in your work!
