Offering Service Through Prayer and Friendship

Saint Benedict’s Senior Citizens Group is open to parishioners of any age, as well as to non-parishioners who are simply looking for an enjoyable way to form new friendships, have some fun at sponsored events and join in ministering to others in the community.

The group holds many events throughout the year offering everyone the opportunity to learn about upcoming events, and to get acquainted with other members and visitors. Meetings are held every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., in the school cafeteria. Refreshments are served and everyone has a chance to try their hand at card games. Other activities include a monthly Bingo game, picnics, holiday dinners and ice cream socials, just to name a few.

The group also runs trips during the year. Day trips have included a visit to the Casino and dessert atop the Minolta Tower overlooking the mighty Niagara Falls. Overnight trip accommodations include a luxury coach complete with a restroom, movie, TV viewing, games and prizes.

With regular minimal dues of $5 per member, things are made affordable and enjoyable for everyone. As with the many other dedicated organizations at Saint Benedict’s, the Senior Citizens Group also helps others in need, donating needed funds or materials to the Church and the School.
