The Goal of Lifelong Faith Formation

Support families, staff, organizations, and individuals in their mission to 'go and make disciples' through:

              • Formation, Education, and Service to others
              • Head, Heart, and Hands
              • Catechesis, Prayer, and Service
              • Thinking, Feeling, and Doing

Parents are the first teachers of their children.

Parents 'role-model' for their children is a "best practice" and at the same time, the most influential for their child.

We support (and not replace) parents in their effort to raise children in the Roman Catholic faith.

Parent's Role:

- Attend Mass as a family on a regular basis
- Teach/ practice basic prayers with your children
- Pray:
     - At meals, morning/ night, at special family gatherings, for a safe vacation, sporting event, etc.
- Connect the dots between church and society for their children

(If parents don't connect-the-dots, their friends will...)

Parish's Role:

- Provide options to receive faith formation:
     - Weekly, Monthly, both in parish and at home
- Support parents with appropriate book(s), websites, and other resources
- Offer multiple retreat options thru out the year
- Provide excellent Sacramental parent meeting(s), resources, retreat, and flexible reception of the Sacraments (When possible)

- Offer many options and styles for adult faith formation

Holy Spirit's Role:

- As disciples, we need to be open to the Holy Spirit's guidance in our lives
- Move us beyond what we have learned
- Help connect our heart to our head

You are the purpose of my work, never an interruption.
